Abstract

Abstrak: Friend with benefit atau FWB merupakan sebuah bentuk perilaku seks bebas yang mengancam kehidupan moral bangsa. Tumbuh suburnya FWB tidak lepas dari gencarnya media dalam memberitakan FWB. FWB tidak dipandang sebagai penyimpangan sosial, melainkan sebagai sesuatu yang baik dan wajar. Penelitian ini bermaksud memaparkan representasi FWB yang terdapat dalam situs merdeka.com. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan model analisis wacana kritis Norman Fairclough. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberitaan FWB pada situs merdeka.com memandang perilaku FWB sebagai sesuatu yang tidak negatif dan normal. FWB direpresentrasikan sebagai bentuk alternatif pola hubungan yang wajar. Hal ini tampak pada aspek kebahasaan dalam produksi teks situs merdeka.com yang meliputi pemilihan judul serta pemilihan kata dalam setiap paragraf, kalimat, maupun anak kalimat. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu upaya menyadarkan masyarakat untuk bersikap peka dan kritis terhadap pemberitaan-pemberitaan di media massa, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan perilaku seks bebas.

Abstract: Friend with benefit or FWB is a form of free sex behavior that endangers the moral life of the nation. The thriving of FWB cannot be separated from the incessant media in reporting on FWB. FWB is not seen as a social deviation, but as something good and natural. The purpose of this study is to describe the representation of FWB contained on the merdeka.com website. This study is a qualitative method with critical discourse analysis model by Norman Fairclough. The results of this study indicate the FWB reporting on the merdeka.com website that views about FWB behavior is not negative and normal. FWB is represented as an alternative form of reasonable relationship pattern. This can be seen in the linguistic aspects of the text production on the merdeka.com website that includes the titles choice and its selection of the words in each paragraph, sentence and clause. This research is expected could to assist for raising public awareness to be sensitive and critical of the media reports, especially those relating to free sex behavior.
